Lab 1: Adobe illustrator to Adobe Animate

In week one’s session we have began to look at Adobe Animate.

For this weeks task in-class, we had to make our own characters in Illustrator and import them to Adobe Animate to add movement.

An important thing to remember when creating characters is to use layers. If you don’t do this, you won’t be able to animate the character very well later on as all the limbs will be joined etc.

I made both a cat and a bird for my animation.

I brought the characters into Animate and created basic sprites like clouds, the moon, and the sun. I used tweening to create movement and parent layers to join body parts up without everything being on one layer.
