Progress Meetings Log

Here, you will find a log of my progress meetings with both Rob and Yang. I use these meetings to receive consistent feedback and to help with the development of my project. Each meeting has been noted here to show how my work has progressed in accordance to my planned project schedule.

26/11/2024

Today I met with Yang, and we discussed my Major Project progression. I showed my app icon development, and my typography development posts. Yang suggested to me that I should test my icon against different colored screensavers to determine if the design is fully legible and accessible.

 

Between today and my next meeting, I would like to further develop my brand identity and continue to test the accessibility. I would also like to finish my app icon animation before beginning to consider wireframes for the app.

Today I met with Rob and showed my icon and typography posts. Rob suggested that I should consider a darker background for my app or add a border to distinguish it more. He also said that the leaf is clearly distinguished even without the stem, and that removing the stem could help with the balance of the icon with the typography. He also said that adding context for the name could help external examiners understand my project more, and that the animated logo is strong.

 

I am going to try a darker backdrop for my icon and create mockups to test this. I will then conduct testing to see what works better. I am also going to remove the stem to balance the icon out.

Today I met with Yang and showed my ongoing Development Log progress. I also discussed the changes to my logo colour scheme, explaining that I had spoken with Rob and decided to opt for a darker background.

 

My feedback from Yang was to try make the icon stand out more due to it being quite hard to recognize with the darker background. We discussed saturating the icon more to create contrast, as well as experimenting with the stroke size to make the icon more apparent. I am going to amend this and update it across my designs before meeting again to show the results.

Today I met with Yang and we looked at my developing posts and my figma prototype so far. I also showed Yang the updated icon, and she agreed that it is now more effective. Yang was also pleased with my progress so far and said that now would be an ideal time to begin user testing on my prototype to spot any errors which need fixing.

 

I am happy with the progress I am making and I am also on track with my schedule, as I planned to start user testing around February 4th. I am going to begin this now and will then arrange another meeting to show how my project has developed after receiving user feedback.
